Frequently Asked Questions
+ Do you take my insurance?
No smoke and mirrors here, I am out-of-network with insurance companies. This means I operate under a fee-for-service model, I accept HSA/FSA cards, credit/debit card, or check as payment at the time of the appointment. This means there are no hidden costs and no unexpected bills months later. Read more about why I operate this way below.
+ Why are you out-of-network?
I'm out of network with insurance companies because it is better for you, as the consumer. And yes, it is better for me too because there are no road blocks to giving you the BEST possible care. Being out-of-network allows me to spend the full session 1-on-1 with you and provide evidence based care that is not influenced by insurance regulations or reimbursement rates.
+ Do you accept HSA/FSA as payment?
Absolutely!
+ Can I see you if I’m not a runner?
Yes! Although I specialize with runners, I also see a variety of orthopedic conditions. As a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist, I am highly trained to manage any orthopedic diagnosis. Feel free to go to our contact page and reach out for a free phone consultation. If you aren’t right for my practice, I will try and point you to the appropriate person free of charge.
+ What should I expect?
Honest, evidence based approach, no gimmicks.
The first session is all about hearing your unique story and history with your issue. The goal will be to empower you with information and movement that will begin to push your condition in the right direction. My goal is to eventually work myself out of the equation so you can return to your active lifestyle with the knowledge gained from our sessions.
After the initial evaluation most patients have follow-up physical therapy sessions for an additional 2-4 visits spread out over a period of several months. During this time you will have email access to me for guidance.
*If you are looking for a passive treatment approaches such as massage, ultrasound or electrical stimulation that is not something I offer. I do perform manual therapy as a part of comprehensive program but only if it is warranted.
+ How much will my therapy cost?
A physical therapy evaluation is either $200 for a 60 minute session or $300 for a 90 minute session that includes an in-depth gait analysis. 60 minute follow up appointments are $200
+ How do you treat?
-Careful evaluation and assessment of injury or painful condition
-Education on your situation so you can take ownership and have command of the rehab plan
-Utilization of exercise treatment techniques to foster performance and reduce pain
-Running gait assessment using slow motion video and cutting edge RunEasi Sensor/Software
-Emphasis on home exercise program prescription
-Gait retraining, prooper footwear prescription, education on evidence based return to run progression and long term training practices
+ Can I still submit my visit as an out-of-network claim?
Yep! I will provide you with a “superbill” after every session which will have all the necessary documentation for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
